Nutrition

Lighthouse Preschool & Daycare believes that developing healthy eating habits is a fundamental skill that all young children need to have. We strive to provide a variety of nutritious meals and healthy snacks that will nourish your children throughout the day. In addition to the sample meals shown below, your child will also receive an afternoon snack.

 

Meals will be served "family style". Eating family style can make a BIG difference to little  preschoolers.  On average, a child may need to try a new food 15-20 times before they start to like it. But when they have the choice to serve themselves and they see their friends eating new foods, they accept new foods faster, even vegetables!  

 

Students learn social skills like saying please and thank you, conversation and sharing.  It also helps develop fine motor skills, like using very big spoons.  At Lighthouse Preschool & Daycare, we believe, food is better when we eat together!
